Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich—the Basic Way!

The chicken breast sandwich is easily one of the plainest, blandest sandwiches in the entire world. Yet, at the same time, it is one of the most popular sandwiches, despite its simple nature. Below you will find a grilled chicken breast sandwich recipe that you can make with just a chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a little bit of honey mustard sauce.

To make a grilled chicken breast sandwich first you are going to need:

A Grilled Chicken Breast (hah!)

Lettuce

Tomato

Red Onion

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Sandwich Rolls

First, take your un grilled chicken breast and thaw it out. It is best to let it thaw at room temperature, but that requires advanced planning, and we know how hard that is. You can also thaw your un grilled chicken breast in a bowl of boiling/really fucking hot water. You can also do it in the microwave. While this is happening you ought to light the grill.

When your un-grilled chicken breast is thawed, throw it on the grill. Ideally, you want the chicken to be white all the way through (no pink) yet still juicy and moist to the touch (and bite). It should have black grill marks on the faces of the grilled chicken breast. Limit your flipping and turning to a minimum.

Afterwards, throw your grilled chicken breast on the sandwich roll. On top of your grilled chicken breast sandwich, add the sliced red onion, sliced tomato, and lettuce. Spread the honey mustard to your liking over the top of the bun. Add some fruit as a side (or the all-American French-fries) and enjoy your juicy, grilled chicken breast sandwich!

Creamy White Chili Recipe

White chili is great, because you can make it with chicken, or you can keep it vegetarian and cook it with tofu. Below is a simple creamy white chili recipe that will fill you up and warm you up.

You will need:

Chicken (or Tofu)

Pinto or White Beans

Onion

Green Onion

Garlic

Jalapeno

Chicken Broth or Stock

Cumin

Basil

Oregano

Chili Powder

Heavy Cream

First, chop up your onion, green onion and jalapeno. Then mince the garlic. If you decide to add chicken, you want to cook it so it looks white on the outside. It does not have to be cooked all the way through. Tofu should be thrown in raw.

Next, you want to add all of the above into a large pot, along with your pinto or white beans. Put the whole can in—bean juice and all. Next, you want to add the chicken broth or stock until every object in the pot is submerged by the broth or stock. Add your spices, with a heavy helping of chili powder. Remember, creamy white chili isn’t chili without chili powder. Bring contents of the bowl to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and allow the creamy white chili to simmer.

Slowly, add heavy cream to the mix, making sure to stir as you pour. If you pour too fast, then the cream will curd and you will have something really nasty on your hands.

Afterwards, you can re-season a bit, and allow the creamy white chili to cook for at least three hours. Do not cover it. Do not stir it more than every thirty minutes, just to kick up all the seasoning. Remember the longer you cook it, the better it will taste.

If the white chili isn’t creamy enough for you, you can always add more cream to the mix. You might also want to try and add a bit of Monterey jack cheese into the mix. Serve and enjoy.

Why Do We Eat Turkey On Thanksgiving? It’s not what you really think.

The history of Thanksgiving dates back to the early 1600’s, and you would think that the history of the turkey would date back to the same time as well. However, it does not.

The real answer to why do we eat turkey on thanksgiving is the working of both history and the media. It is true that wild turkey is native to North America, and thereby would be a large part of the Native American’s diet.

As you may already know from your history classes, the pilgrims had a very rough time adapting to life in North America, as their crops—besides barley—wasn’t producing enough to sustain their life. The Native Americans introduced the pilgrims to corn and squash as well as turkey.

The first Thanksgiving was in 1621, and the Native Americans were the guests of honor. They ate all of the food that the Native Americans introduced to the pilgrims.

However, Thanksgiving wasn’t an official holiday until 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln declared it as such. The population ate a lot of turkey, and because of the popularity, Thanksgiving began being referred to as Turkey Day.

Interestingly enough, the popularity of the Turkey nearly caused the bird to go extinct. In 1991 the Federal Government stepped in and offered relief. Now the bird can be found in 49 of the 50 states.

So it turns out that the Turkey wasn’t always tradition on Thanksgiving. It was a product of history, and the popularity of the bird amongst the general population in the early times of Thanksgiving that gave rise to the solid tradition of turkey eating on Thanksgiving that we have today!

How Long Do You Cook Turkey Breast

So it’s time to roast a turkey breast, but wait, just how long do you cook a turkey breast? We got your answers right here!

For safety precaution it is always best to rinse your turkey breast with warm water and dry it with a towel before handling. Also, wash all your utensils and dishes to prevent any cross contamination.

After sanitizing everything, prepare a margarine spread for your bird. This is a prime time to add any extra herbs or spices, so be creative!

Soften the margarine with the rest of the herbs and spice until you have a good spread. When its ready, rub that baby down making sure over the entire breast.

Next, preheat your oven to 350ºF

While you’re waiting for the oven to warm up, wrap the turkey breast in aluminum foil and place it in a baking pan. The set it in once the oven is ready.

A general rule is to roast the turkey 20 minutes for every pound of meat you have. However, it is best always to use a meat thermometer. When the turkey breast reaches 120º it is safe to eat.

So you’re feeling like having meatloaf for dinner. But you don’t just want any meatloaf, you want turkey meatloaf. Times are rough though, and cash is tight. Here is a free turkey meatloaf recipe. All you need is your spare vegetables that are lying around your fridge and ground turkey.

First, go out and buy some ground turkey. It is cheap, and you will need a food processor (or a lot of patience and a really sharp knife!) to get your turkey as fine as it needs to be for your turkey meatloaf.

After you have done that, mince your left-over vegetables and place them into a bowl, mixing them so they aren’t clumped together. Any vegetables will work for this. Really, anything from carrots to peppers to onions to cabbage. Just make sure you mince them up finely. You don’t want a hunk of carrot messing up the consistency of your turkey meat loaf.

Now, take the ground turkey you bought and break it up with your hands. Do not cook the turkey. Place it into the same mixing bowl you put your minced vegetables into and mix it all together.

Next, you want to add one egg to the mix. This way your turkey meat loaf will stick together like a loaf of bread and not crumble into little meat curds. Mix the egg together with the mix all the way through, much as if you were mixing batter.

If your mix feels to be a bit too wet, you can add breadcrumbs or flower to thicken the consistency. Be careful not to add too much though, because you’ll end up at the same place as before you put the egg into the mix.

Once your mix is thoroughly swirled, place it into a loaf-shaped pan or stoneware. Put it in the oven at 350º and let it cook until it is cooked all the way through. Serve and enjoy your turkey meatloaf. It always tastes better when you cook it this way, because it’s practically free!

White Chicken Chili Soup that Cooks by itself!

White chicken chili is a dish to dazel your neighbors, and now you can make a slightly lighter soup when the weather doesn’t warrant an afternoon in the sun and a bowl of chili.

You will need the following items:

Chicken Broth

Cream

Chicken

Onion

Jalapeno

Garlic

Pinto or White Beans

Cumin

Oregano

Chili Powder

Basil

Cut the chicken into cubes and cook it until it is cooked all the way through. Chop up the jalapeno and onion, setting it aside. Mince the garlic. Set aside.

Dump the chicken, vegetables and pinto or white beans into a large pot. Add the cream and chicken broth, using a bit more chicken broth than the cream. Make sure your goodies are all submerged. Then, add your cumin, oregano, dried basil leaves and chili powder. Bring contents to a boil, then cover and reduce to low heat, allowing a simmer. Let it cook at least three to four hours, stirring occasionally.

How to Make Turkey Meatloaf at Home!

When you are sitting at home wondering, how do I make turkey meatloaf, it is easier than you think it is. All you need is the following ingredients:

Ground Turkey

Onion

Celery

Carrot

Garlic

Crushed Black Pepper

Salt

Egg

Breadcrumbs

First, what you want to do is mince (that means, cut it into very fine, small pieces) your onions, celery, carrots, and garlic. Combine them into a bowl and toss the vegetables around, mixing them up amongst each other.

Then, you want to take the ground turkey and break it up with your fingers. Don’t cook the turkey, keep it raw. Place the ground turkey into the bowl that you have your vegetables in, and mix it up together.

After that you want to add one single egg to the mix. This will allow the mixing to clump together. That way, once you bake it, your turkey meatloaf won’t fall apart.

Mix the egg with the ground turkey and the minced vegetables. If your mix feels too wet, add a some breadcrumbs to even out the consistency. Even if your mix doesn’t feel wet, you can add a little bit to add to the flavor and the texture of your turkey meatloaf. Be careful, though. If you add too much breadcrumbs, your meatloaf will fall apart once you take it out of the oven.

Place your mix evenly in a square pan, (a lot of people use a stone bread pan, which gives the shape of a loaf of bread, hence, turkey meatloaf!)

Bake your turkey meatloaf at 350º until the turkey meatloaf is solid all the way through. Allow 10 minutes to cook. Cut and enjoy!
