What Should I Serve With Chili? The Answer is Light and Simple!

Chili is a time consuming and an extremely filling dish to serve for lunch or dinner. It doesn’t always require another dish to complement it, but most of the time cooks in the kitchen will like to serve it up with something else—just so you don’t feel like you are in college anymore.

The truth is that chili is such a heavy dish that its taste will certainly overpower anything you serve along side of it. Ideally, you would have something to dip into the chili, thereby extenuating the flavors. A big slice of Texas toast—which is just a thick slice of toast with a ton of butter and a bit of garlic—will serve your chili better than any other side you add to it.

I would also suggest serving your chili with optional sour cream and shredded sharp cheddar. Both of these will make your chili taste even better than it already is and allow for other people to make it less spicy if you choose to make your chili that way. We hope that answers the question of what you should serve with chili.
